The State of Hazard Communication: OSHA and Beyond
Why are SDS for the same product sometimes different? Why can’t I use an EU SDS in my workplace? Can my supplier really refuse to disclose the composition of hazardous chemicals in their product? What is changing with HCS 2024? What really happens at the GHS subcommittee meetings? These are some of the questions this talk will address. Hazard communication is a foundational element of worker safety and health but many industrial hygienists do not trust the information on SDS. Let’s discuss why, where we can find hazard information on our own and how we encourage improvement in the quality of SDS. There will be plenty of time for your questions.
