Volunteer Judges Needed for 2026 Regional Science Fairs The Potomac Section of the AIHA has proudly supported the local school systems for many years now by judging science fairs and awarding prizes to entries with an environmental, safety or occupational health focus. Our support of these fairs is an outstanding opportunity to introduce industrial hygiene as a potential scientific field of study to middle and high school students. Section volunteers in the past have found the experience to be tremendously rewarding and fun. We are in the midst of our planning for this year’s science fairs in February, March and April. Our goal is to support five local fairs again this year…Montgomery, Prince George’s, Northern Virginia (Arlington), Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. It is best if we have at least three volunteers for each fair. Additionally, we need individuals for the Science Fair Coordinator role for the Prince Georges', Loudoun and Montgomery County fairs. The judging only takes a few hours of well spent outreach time. Please refer to the fair-specific information below for dates. We have judging criteria, score forms and certificate templates available for use. Register and we will contact you! The Science Fair Coordinator will organize the judging among the volunteer team and pass the information regarding the winners selected back to the Board. To volunteer, sign up for the fair(s) which you can attend and judge. If you can be the Fair Coordinator, contact the Event Coordinator kaydietrich@yahoo.com The following is a list of the five local fairs and dates (we will update as more information is provided).
