Several local EHS associations have partnered together to offer this timely train the trainer course. This course is designed for anyone who conducts business in the Commonwealth of Virginia (including truckers) to comply with the standard.

Virginia was the first (and currently only) state to enact a permanent COVID-19 Safety Standard.  The permanent standard needed to be reviewed when the governor lifted the state of emergency. On July 29, 2021, the Department of Labor and Industry, Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) submitted proposed changes. On August 23, 2021 final comments on the final draft were due.  On August 26, 2021 the final Safety and Health Codes Board meeting took place.  At that time it is expected to finalize the standard.  After adoption, employers will have 30 days to comply with all aspects of the standard except training in which they will have 60 days after adoption.  This course is designed for EHS professionals who have employees who work full time, part time, or transit the Commonwealth of Virginia and how to comply with 16VAC25-220.  It will review the requirements, provide the science for understanding the pandemic, and provide trainer tools and content to meet the requirements of the standard.  This will be a virtual only training.

Agenda Outline:

  1. Overview of infection control (including disinfection, disease transmission, specifics on SARS-CoV-2);
  2. Review of training requirements of the standard and sample training program and;

  • Hazard Assessments
